This week was a grind work we for us. I drove back to Bend on Sunday night (alone), and Jer drove back Monday night (he had to stay for more filming and a meeting with our tax lady. I taught my Barre 3 classes on Monday morning, and then spent the rest of the day writing a blog about the best things to do and see in Bend, OR for Auj Poj, cleaning the house, and helping Jer edit his blog post for this weeks Beating50Percent article (read here >> 5 Habits To Build In Your First Year Of Marriage). Tuesday morning we photographed more couples for our Beating50Percent Launch Party and Gallery Event that we are hosting in Portland this Sunday!
Jer and I decided to host an event for our friends and family to celebrate the launch of Beating50Percent, highlight what we have learned from 8 married couples that we look up to, let them know how they can get involved, and showcase Jeremy’s photography! We chose 8 couples to photograph, and then Jeremy worked his magic to make the photos beautifully represent both the couple, and his style of photography.
We spent most of the week photographing couples, writing content for Beating50Percent and Auj Poj, and prepping for our event on Sunday! Lots of late nights and early mornings this week. Plus I am now teaching a 6 am Barre 3 class so up at the butt crack of dawn for me!:)
It was National Pancake Day this week so Jer and I hit up the IHOP down the street form our house in Bend. We celebrated National Pancake Day last year when we lived in LA. I specifically remember getting home from work at 2 pm (exhausted from waking up at 2 a.m.), getting on Jer’s motorcycle, and cruising up the road to the IHOP on Sunset Blvd. It was the highlight of my week I remember. Soemthing to look forward to beyond the mundane…. Wow I am thankful and extremely blessed to have left that life behind. I guess we will make National Pancake Day a tradition. Who doesn’t love free pancakes in the afternoon!?
In the evenings we hang out with our friends the Partridge’s. Somehow we got to looking at their wedding photos this week and…. just wow…. hahahaha! Here is a visual for those interested. Sorry Dale and Veronica… I just had to;)
Friday morning we decided to go skiing to give our minds and break from work and our bodies a break from the technology hunch. My parents (the Botti’s) were in town (the have a vacation house in Bend) so we skiied with them at Mt. Bachelor! Here’s a video recap from the day. Sorry I don’t have much footage of Jeremy skiing! More to come! He is getting so much better then when we first started in November!!!
After a day on the mountain we ran around town finishing up errands for our event, and then caravanned back to Portland. (Jer had to drive one of his dad’s cars since he stayed later last weekend, so he had to drive that back this weekend. I think #pinethekitty liked the extra space!
Stress but excited for our event tomorrow! We’ll let you know how it goes! Wish we could invite each of you because we are so thankful for all your support of Beating50Percent so far!
