Alex, The first time we met, through the window of a car, I tried to hide under the dashboard.
I had just gotten off the plane, coming home from Brazil.
I didn’t know that the boy mowing the lawn in his crocs, giving me a shy smile and a wave, would be the same boy who drove me home every night that summer
And shared in the memories of all the times we * almost * held hands.
You entered my life the day before my 16th birthday, and also entered my heart.
Together, we’ve been to every high school dance,
And spent almost every weekend at Miami eating Krishna and squished in my twin bed.
You taught me how instant a connection can be,
How enduring a bond can be,
And how almost any problem can be solved with a few kisses and an Excel spreadsheet.
I cant promise you that dark clouds will never hover over our lives
Or that we will always have it easy.
But, I do promise you my everlasting devotion,
And my unconditional love for a lifetime.
I promise you that Ill listen to you
And hold your hand
And always stand by your side
I promise that throughout our life,
Ill hope with you,
Dream with you,
And build with you.
I vow to love life with you
To always remember the love and closeness I feel for you today, and call upon it in times of need.
I promise to have the patience that love demands,
To speak when words are needed
To share in the silence when they are not
And to live within the warmth of your heart
And always call it home.
I promise to love you, in all of your forms,
Now and forever.
I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love.
You are my best friend. You have my heart. I love you.
From the summer I met you six years ago,
I have extremely vivid memories of the special times spent with you.
We weren’t even dating then, but I think I remember all of those special moments together because,
From the tie we met, we were meant to be together.
Now here we are, getting married, and I still feel like we’re meant to be together – soul mates.
But I know that’s not enough to sustain our marriage for the rest of our lives,
So I promise to always be patient and honest with you,
To always be by your side and put us first
To always smile at you and hold your hand
and to love you always, no matter what.
I’ll always, always love you.

3 Sentence Love Story
Alex and I met when we were 16 years old, and despite the fact that high school relationships statistically fail, ours endured. We made choices in our lives to bring ourselves together, instead of trying to foster separate lives – we chose to attend the same college, we chose career options that would allow us to be in the same place, we chose to spend time together, and chose to pursue a life of togetherness. We were married on June 20, 2015, a little over a year ago, and every day choose to deepen our love for each other, remember always how we felt on our wedding day, and feel the excitement of a life together.
