My sweet, sweet Lauren, you are absolutely beautiful. The fact that God has shown me the grace to give you to me as my wife is nothing short of amazing. Today, before God, family and friends, I commit to paying that grace forward to you for the rest of my life.
When you are sick, I will remind you that your beauty is so much deeper than how you feel.
When you struggle, with confidence, I will remind you of your worthiness.
I will die to myself daily and put your needs before mine.
I will be a leader for our family, always consulting the Word of God for our direction.
I will be faithful, running after your heart alone as the only intimate relation I need.
When you succeed, I will praise you and celebrate you.
Most importantly, when I fail at loving you like this, I will pray for the strength to be better and I will always, always, always stay and fight for us. I’ll love you forever Lauren and I can’t wait to go on this incredible journey with you.
Bobs, I am in awe of this moment. I prayed for this to be God’s will from the first month we were together, six years ago. God purposely brought you into my life at the exact right moment. We grew not only in Him, but we grew together. When I was young, I prayed for the type of man God would bring me. Someone who was smart, who made me laugh, who was like my dad, who loved to travel, and probably most importantly, who loved Disney. Then, I found you and I got not only what I asked for, but what I needed. A man who would get me to understand the importance of submission in reverence to God. A man who showed me love and forgiveness the way Christ does. A man who makes me pray in the midst of pain. A man who loves my family as his own. I feel honored to become your wife today. When I look at you now, I see everything all at once. I see six years of sweat memories and hard work. I see you today as my new husband and I see you as the future father of my kids and my life partner. I see my best friend, the head of our new home, the love of my life and my other half. I want our legacy to be a Godly marriage and for others to see His love through our love.
I, Lauren Ashley, stand here now before God, family and friends and make these vows to you, Bobby.
I vow to love the person you are today and the person you will be in 5, 10, 25 years from now. I know we will grow and change, but I promise to have the same love for you.
I vow on the busiest days to slow down, look at you and appreciate you.
I commit to being a prayerful wife over you and our new family.
I vow to remember you are never the enemy and to commit to our oneness. I am with you. I have no desire to step forward or backwards alone.
I vow to protect our marriage and let nothing nor no one between us. I promise to put you before anyone and anything else. And that my heart and soul will remain faithful to you.
I vow not to look to you for completion or fulfillment but to find it in Christ.
I promise to be your biggest fan, to stand by you at all times, and to love you more than anyone else can.
I promise to humbly and selflessly serve you. To put away my selfish ways to let you lead.
I vow to show you my love with words and actions.
I vow to love you and forgive you endlessly like Jesus.
I vow to love you even when you take forever to get ready, when you want to nap constantly, and when our team loses because you watched the game.
I vow to remind you that I am in this until death.
I love you and I commit myself to you forever and always.
