Jenna, my love and biggest supporter, with God’s help and grace I vow to be your faithful husband. Showing you respect, patience and honor, as well as the long-suffering kindness and grace that Jesus Christ so willingly shows us.
I promise to reject passivity, accept responsibility and lead our family courageously under God’s greater authority. I vow to always return in the face of conflict, value your opinion and cherish your innermost true self. I vow to always pursue you and never assume that I have fully learned you. I promise to be more accepting when I just cannot endure the third HGTV program in a row, and I will actually pay attention to the abundant videos of baby animals frolicking about in some farmer’s pasture simply because it is something you enjoy. Most of all I vow to my Father, my Heavenly Father, that I will rise each day to seek His guidance to love you as He first loved us.
I vow all of this until the day He calls us home,
My sweet Jake,

3 Sentence Love Story
The day before his 24th birthday, Jake was struck by lightning (a direct hit just above his heart) while on his boat out fishing on a nearby lake and was somehow able to drive himself to the hospital 40 minutes away. I happened to be working that night and was assigned to be his nurse for the next couple of nights where we barely spoke and he had temporary short-term memory loss. After making a bet with c0-workers, I added him on Facebook after he was discharged, he miraculously remembered me and 2.5 years later we made vows to one another!
