My dearest Andy,
I still remember the first time we reunited after college – I remember thinking you were the cutest, funniest, most horribly dressed person I had every met. I thought to myself that you had so much potential. And by that, of course, I meant in by the way you dressed – you were perfect in every other aspect. And today, I make the most sincere promise that one can make to another. I vow to be your constant source of love and support, your devoted teammate in life. To allow myself to grow each and every day through your remarkable love for me. I promise you my deepest love and my fullest devotion. To speak when words are needed, and to share the silence when they are not. I will love you, I will honor you, and I will cherish you, unconditionally, every day for the rest of my life. I promise to watch Redskins games with you even though they’re terrible, and let you indulge in football and drink beer before noon on Sunday’s I promise to laugh with you, and sometimes at you, be faithful to you, honest with you, and worthy of your trust and your heart. I vow to have the patience that love demands, to encourage and inspire you, and to love you truly when our journey is effortless, and when it’s a challenge. I give you my hand to hold and my life to keep. May we never forget how we felt in this exact moment. May the bond that we make today never be broken, and may it only continue to grow stronger for the rest of our lives.
You are the woman that has changed my life. I never thought it was possible to love a woman as much as I have come to love you. You have been raised by an amazing family and you have been such a blessing in my families’ lives. As we continue to grow together, I vow to continue to challenge and push each other to new heights. I vow to love you in not only your love languages, but all five. I vow to keep humor and humility both in our lives. I vow to soak in individual moments with you. I vow to grow your grass green, both figuratively and in real life. I vow to be a husband you are proud of and can’t wait to come home to. I vow to be the best father I can possibly be to our puppies, and if God blesses us with healthy children, our children one day too. I want to be a support system for you. I want to be your outlet you can vent to when things are going well and when you are having successes, but also when there are tough times and the road isn’t as easy. I still find it amazing we have not got in one fight or argument yet over our years together (we have). Our journey so far has been nothing short of amazing, and yet somehow, today is the beginning of a whole new, what’s bound to be even more, amazing adventure. I vow to praise you like the Goddess you are. You’re strong, compassionate and beautiful. I wouldn’t be the man I am without you. You have pushed me in my faith & relationship with God, and I respect you tremendously for that. Please keep pushing me. And when we get to where we are comfortable and coasting, lets do something to become uncomfortable to challenge ourselves and to grow into something even stronger and greater. We are so blessed to have the loved ones in our lives to travel far and wide to the Pacific Northwest to witness our love first hand. They can truly see the woman I fell in love with. The smile, the laughter, the swing of the hair, the confidence, the facial expressions – I love your face. You’ve been a partner I can rely on through everything life has to offer. My team wouldn’t be anything it is today without you. I love you.
3 Sentence Love Story
Our journey began back in high school, when we had a few classes together and would constantly be harmlessly flirting with each other, despite being in completely different circles – Andy was the jock athlete, Lindsay was the artsy socialite. After college, we reconnected in our small home town of Happy Valley, Oregon. 8 years later, neither of us could have imagined the beautiful adventure of marriage that God had been preparing for us all this time.
