Michael Anthony, my little belly. Over 4 and a half years ago, I saw you walk through the doors in the back of this church. Today, I walked through those same doors on my way to become your wife, and I couldn’t be happier, or more excited. One of the things that impressed me the most about you when we first met, and continues to impress me today is your faith. 2 days after we met, I got my wisdom teeth out. I checked my phone afterwards to see a text from you that you were praying for me. You barely knew me, and you took the time to pray for my wellbeing. When we were on our first date, you asked me to tell you about when I had accepted Jesus into my heart, and it caught me off guard. That is such an intimate detail, but sharing that story with you and hearing yours brought us so much closer together. This also helped me to know right away that you were the kind of man who I could build a relationship with, and who would help me to grow. Over the past 4 and a half years, you have challenged me in so many ways. You have taught me to be more adventurous, and to try new things. I can honestly say that I never ate raw squid before I met you. You comfort me when I am weak, and encourage me when I am strong. You make me want to be better in so many ways. I promise to continue to challenge myself, to be a better wife, a better partner, a better friend, and, one day, a better mother. I promise to be more adventurous, more passionate, more humble, and more Christ-like. I promise to love you with a Christ-like love, selflessly and unconditionally. I promise to be your biggest supporter, to pray for you and with you, to motivate you, to challenge you, to adventure with you. I promise to put God first, and to put you before anyone, and anything else on earth. I promise to always be your wife first. Before I am a teacher, a musician, a friend, a sister, a daughter, a mother, I am your wife. I promise to be on your team, to make you laugh, to let you drive, to be your co-pilot and navigator. I promise to watch football with you, to take care of you when you’re sick, and to rub your feet. I promise to cook for you, and be a better, more attentive cook, and to clean up after myself. I promise to continue to learn more about you as we change and grow together. I promise to have more humility towards you, to have faith in you, to pray more prayers with you, and to continue to worship with you. I promise to lift you up and support you when you are weak, and admire and compliment you when you are strong. I promise stand by you in the hard times, and celebrate with you in the happy times. I promise to consider you in all that I do. I promise to always hold your hand. I promise to really listen to you, to be patient with you, and to be understanding toward you. I promise to try not to be stubborn, and to be quick to forgive. I promise to humbly and selflessly serve you, to respect you, to honor you, to follow you, to trust you with all of my heart. I promise to love you. Always and forever, to the moon & back, to infinity and beyond, I’ll always love you more. Today is one of the most important days of our lives. When I was younger, I wanted so badly to feel in love, and to share that feeling with someone. With you, I have more love that I could ever have imagined. The love that I have for you is so much more than just a feeling of being in love. It’s an unwavering confidence in my choice to love you, completely, with all that I have it me, for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to be your wife, for realz.
Katarina, in the months leading up to this moment, us here together in front of God, our family, and friends, surrounded with love, I wanted to speak on what I cherish most about you. That is the joy that you bring into my life and our relationship through the way you choose you live your life. Three weeks is the length of time it took from us meeting to making the decision that I wanted to be with you for the rest of my life. The decision was easy to make, you made it very simple for me. You are a tremendously beautiful person with a heart that serves and seeks God, and I aspire to make that beauty a part of myself. When I think back to the day we met, I was cautious and unsure of what meeting you would mean for my life. My nerves were calmed by a most impressive female handshake, confident and strong with little to no sweat. As we dated I learned the most crucial things about you that my brain did not know to ask, but that my soul needed to know and feel. I learned of how you came to know God, and what that meant for you. You showed me how you treated others, and you showed me all that you were involved in and how hard you worked in your life. On the night we shared our first kiss, I know you may have thought it was not fantastic, but I couldn’t have been happier. Your friend asked me how I thought it was. I said it was the best kiss of my life. She asked why, and I said that it was because it was the first time I got to kiss my wife. Katarina, I am grateful for the imperfections in our relationship and our lives. They have shown to us that despite any flaws in our hearts and minds or any disagreements that we might have, that we will come together with love and respect for each other to work through anything and be better as a result. Our marriage will be a journey that I have been looking forward to for so long. With you by my side and I by yours, and God watching over us, we will soon find out what it really means to be tied together in Marriage, and I cannot wait. Katarina, I am committed to honoring you, respecting you, and trusting you. We both know that my stubbornness will get in the way of that sometimes, but you love me despite myself and I adore you for that. I promise to seek joy in the ways that you do. The ways you laugh at silly things that I do not are each lessons to me, and I promise to learn from them. I promise to never stop trying to make you laugh. The ways you find joy in life are an inspiration to me, and it is where I have much to learn. I promise to support you as you seek happiness and fulfillment in life, whether that is opening a day care or pre-school, being a mother, or anything else. I will be there to help lift you up and honor you. What I am most excited about is all that I will learn about you, and all I will learn from you. I am so proud that within minutes I will be able to call you my wife. Katarina, you are my sunshine, and I love you so much!

3 Sentence Love Story
He came to a Christmas concert I was singing at, and I noticed him as soon as he walked through the church doors. He asked me for my number because, “It’s hard to meet Christian girls, even just as friends.” Four and a half years later, I walked through those same church doors and down the aisle on our wedding day!
